64. Two Resolutions

I sit here entering 2022, feeling humbled, a bit weary, and watching the snow fall.

Accordingly, my first resolution is to formulate and adhere to modest aspirations which are best suited to the reduced spectrum of experiences and opportunities the world offers many of us at the present time.

My second resolution is to never take normalcy for granted again. As they say, "you don't know what you've got until it's gone."

Happy New Year? I hope so. I've never wished for, and we've never needed "happy" the way we do right now. We'll see if we're up to it. Right now, I'm going to try and shovel some snow before the snow blowers shatter the peace of the moment.... But given our predilection for noisy power tools, I have a feeling that particular aspiration may not be modest enough.
