105. The Thing You Can't Explain

Sometimes, when I submit a new work I am asked to provide an Artistic Statement. So for the record, I would like to share my current Artistic Statement which goes as follows:

"When making art, strive to create something beautiful, true, and ageless which comes from the heart, speaks to the human spirit, and acknowledges the essential place of the unknown in our human cultural experience. As painter Georges Braque once put it, "There is only one valuable thing in art: the thing you cannot explain."
