106. Fun at The Fantasy Factory

Recently when my wife Betsy and I were in Hollywood, we were graciously offered the opportunity for a personal tour of the headquarters of the creative team behind Game of Thrones, Death by Lightning and the currently running 3 Body Problem.
When we were shown the office of the Showrunners my attention was immediately drawn to a guitar collection in one corner of the office, but I was especially smitten by what appeared to be Eddie Van Halen's guitar. When I was offered the opportunity to try it out (as pictured above) I jumped at it. (no pun intended) I was awestruck at laying my hands on the one and only legendary instrument known as Frankenstein because Van Halen built it himself out of various parts.
As it turns out, the guitar was a replica. (I later learned that the original is in the Metropolitan Museum of Art.) But I was floating on air while I believed one of the illusions which Hollywood is so adept at creating.
So to all the gracious people we met, Thank you for an unforgettable visit filled with warmth, energy and a dazzling repartee. Especially you Rosie!
