79. Breathing Space: Follow-up
Updated: Sep 12, 2023
Once again, I've been lax in keeping this blog current. I guess I've been caught up this summer in these strange and difficult times.
I'm sure you're dying to hear about the reading of my new quintet Breathing Space which was mentioned in my last blog. The piece worked well. We played all the way through it and I was told that it was a "great piece," a "joy to play." This led to the scheduling of a follow up rehearsal which unfortunately had to be canceled due to insurmountable difficulties encountered while trying to coordinate the proposed event....
....Okay. So that's it. Sometimes if something sounds too good to be true, it is. The experience left me with a bitter taste, but one thing I've learned from this world is how to get over myself. I'm still breathing and Breathing Space sits on the shelf for now anyway waiting for a reprieve.
Meanwhile, I've added Breathing Space to the list of pieces on the Works page and I've posted some new items on the Poetry page if you'd care to venture over that way.
And I'll try to be more timely with my next post.
