Yes, I think the piano has infinite possibilities. But I do not. I have to respect the limits of my body, mind, heart, and soul and not get caught up in an endless round of always wanting more. This always wanting more is the source of so much needless unhappiness. Sometimes it's a rich, powerful person who crosses the boundary into questionable attitudes and behavior or just someone who wants to be that rich, powerful person. In either case they usually end up getting in their own way.

I can't have it all. And if I could, I wouldn't want it. Because having it all means embracing the good and the bad. I'm not perfect, but I usually know the difference and where to draw the line.

Yes, the piano's infinite possibilities are awe inspiring to explore and reflect on. But the beauty of a single well made, and well played instrument is something I can wrap myself around.

One of my favorite characteristics of the piano is that it doesn't require electricity. It is a formidable piece of technology which requires only the touch of a human hand to come alive. Nothing virtual or artificial about that!
